What is flamenco?
Flamenco is a musical art form created by the Gypsies of Andalucia, Spain.  Traditionally the art has three aspects   – singing, guitar, and dance.

Who is Flamenco del Pueblo Viejo?
Flamenco del Pueblo Viejo was started by flamenco artists Mele and Jason Martinez.  Both were trained at the National Conservatory of Flamenco Arts, both have taught and performed with The National Institute of Flamenco and the Annual Festival Flamenco Internacional.  Mele and Jason Martinez are former soloists with The American Flamenco Repertory Company and have performed throughout the country.  Performances include presentations with these artists as well as Flamenco del Pueblo Viejo’s highest level students, and nationally recognized dancers and musicians.

Where is the group located?
Flamenco del Pueblo Viejo is based in Tucson, Arizona, and is available for presentations and educational events throughout Arizona and beyond.

When does Flamenco del Pueblo Viejo perform?

Why does Flamenco del Pueblo Viejo exist?

Though flamenco originated half-way across the globe, this art form has migrated to the United States and throughout the world.  Flamenco del Pueblo Viejo seeks to present and educate pure flamenco artistry to communities of the Southwestern United States with dynamic stage performances, workshops, and ongoing classes with some of the country’s most impressive home-grown flamenco artists. 



Flamenco del Pueblo Viejo Performance Fees:


Student Company
2-8 student dancers, one singer, guitarist, and percussionist

Half hour (or less) performance       email us for the current rates:  info@tucsoniquete.com
One hour (or less) performance       email us for the current rates:   info@tucsoniquete.com

(Non-profit rate - $100 off)


Professional Company
2-4 professional dancers, one professional singer, guitarist, and percussionist

Half hour (or less) performance          $1500 - $2000
One-hour (or less) performance          $2000 - $2500
Two-hour (or less) performance          $2500 - $3000

(Non-profit rate - $300 off)



Employer must also provide:
•    A wooden stage/dance floor (at least 12’x12’)
•    4-6 armless chairs
•    Sound (amplifier, 2 speakers/monitors, 3 mics and stands)

For an additional $100 FDPV will provide dance floor
(includes setup and breakdown and employer must schedule installation)

For an additional $100 FDPV will provide sound
(includes setup and breakdown and employer must schedule installation)

For an additional $25 FDPV will provide chairs
