![]() ![]() The Flamenco del Pueblo Viejo Student Company is a group of dedicated students who have committed themselves to more intensive training in the art of flamenco. Through the Flamenco del Pueblo Viejo Company Project, directed by Mele Martinez, students can broaden their studies in technique, rhythm, body awareness, and flamenco structure and improvisation. The program allows members to examine new choreography and musical composition, train through regular rehearsals, and offers opportunities to understand the beauty and complexity of flamenco in live performance. Company members grow towards becoming a new generation of American flamenco artists! Sunday, May 25 12:00-1:00 pm with Ricardo Anglada Ricardo Anglada is a flamenco guitarist from the region of Northern New Mexico. He is one of the youngest and brightest American flamenco musicians the country has to offer and has toured throughout the United States. The apprentice of the famed flamenco guitarist Jose “Chuscales” Valle of Granada, Anglada received first place at the Concurso Nacional de Flamenco in Festival Flamenco Internacional 2003. He will offer a course in traditional flamenco guitar technique and accompaniment.
